MADOO continues to explore new frontiers in product development by combining various driver types, configurations, and technologies—unconstrained by conventional design norms. A key innovation is the planar magnetic push-pull micro planar driver, “Ortho,” originally developed for the “Typ821.” This driver has since become the sonic benchmark for the MADOO brand, expanding the possibilities of single-driver earphone design.

The “Typ622” also features the “Ortho” driver, this time specially tuned to emphasize mid and low frequencies. This tuning results in a wide soundstage and rich resonance, delivering a powerful, immersive listening experience. At the same time, the Typ622 retains the detailed, high-resolution treble and vivid vocal expression praised in the Typ821, achieving excellent overall balance while enhancing low-end presence.

Push-Pull Micro Planar Magnetic Driver "Ortho"

The “Ortho” driver, developed entirely in-house by MADOO, is a compact micro planar magnetic driver. Planar drivers typically fall into two types: "push-pull drive" and "single drive." The Ortho utilizes the push-pull configuration, which has traditionally been difficult to miniaturize for earphone applications due to the complexity of assembly. MADOO’s experienced engineers overcame this challenge, creating a lightweight and compact planar driver suitable for in-ear use, without sacrificing performance.

The Typ622’s tuning maximizes the Ortho driver’s potential, delivering expressive range from sparkling highs to deep, impactful lows.

High-Rigidity Housing

The Typ622’s housing is crafted from aluminum, chosen for its balance of strength and lightness. Staying true to MADOO’s belief that “housing rigidity affects sound quality,” the shell is made with a thick aluminum wall and finished with a sandblasted surface to enhance rigidity. It is designed by skilled engineers and precisely manufactured using multi-axis CNC machining, ensuring both structural integrity and sonic accuracy.

Optimized Shape from 300 Ear Models

MADOO tailors its designs to the ear shapes of Asian users, focusing on key markets such as Japan, Hong Kong, China, and South Korea. The housing design is based on 300 ear molds collected over three years, resulting in a fit optimized for comfort and acoustic seal. An oval-shaped nozzle stem matches the elliptical profile of the ear canal, improving fit, reducing sound leakage, and preserving the integrity of MADOO’s sound signature.

Sapphire Crystal for Aesthetics and Performance

Under the concept of “long-lasting earphones,” MADOO uses a heavy-duty design inspired by submarine and luxury watch windows. The rear window of the housing is made from sapphire crystal, which has a Mohs hardness of 9, offering outstanding resistance to heat, corrosion, and wear—far superior to typical glass or plastic materials. This crystal element also helps control back pressure in the speaker chamber, enhancing driver performance. The Typ622 features MADOO’s signature second-generation octagonal design, with color accents that reflect its bold, full-bodied sonic character.

Audio-Grade Cable by Acoustune

The included cable is developed under the supervision of MADOO’s sister brand, Acoustune. It features a four-core silver-coated copper design, which reduces signal loss and ensures the earphones operate at their highest potential. The connectors use high-quality, high-reliability “Pentaconn Ear” terminals from Nippon DICS Co., Ltd. Compared to standard MMCX connectors, Pentaconn Ear offers superior electrical contact and easier handling, while maintaining durability. The Typ622 comes standard with two cables: the "MRC011" (3.5mm 3-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug) and the "MRC023" (4.4mm 5-pole L-shaped gold-plated plug).
