Description / Madoo Typ930

A new sound signature focused on spatial expansion
The Typ821 received considerable acclaim, conveying the appeal of the "Ortho" push-pull microplanar drivers, featuring magnets on both sides. For the Typ930, the sonic character of the Typ821 is retained and pushed even further; being tuned with a focus on spatial expansion and the sense of distance from the sound. To achieve this sound, MADOO has incorporated a passive radiator behind the Ortho driver and adopted a hybrid configuration with a spoutless BA driver from Knowles. This has successfully unlocked even greater potential from the Ortho driver.
Ortho Dual Motion Driver: Featuring a Larger Diameter & a Passive Radiator
The Ortho Dual Motion driver in the Typ930 features a larger 12mm diameter, bigger than the 10mm diameter used in the Typ821. Additionally, a more powerful magnet has been adopted, improving the magnetic circuit. Furthermore, this model incorporates the pioneering passive radiator technology "Dual Motion". Using a dome, moulded from thin-film engineering plastic and a brass mass damper, the passive radiator effectively manages pressure within the ear canal. This reduces occlusion and unpleasant resonances, resulting in a wider perceived soundstage. The speaker housing combines brass and stainless steel materials, allowing the passive radiator to be observed through the sapphire crystal faceplate.

Hybrid configuration with spoutless BA drivers
The Typ930 incorporates a spoutless BA driver manufactured by Knowles. This driver functions as a super tweeter, handling the frequency range responsible for delivering a sense of openness. The Ortho Dual Motion driver and BA driver have been optimised with network circuits to maintain similar impedance characteristics. The internal wiring is made using silver-plated high-purity copper wire for shielding and high-purity copper
wire for signal lines to refine tonal balance. This combination achieves a tuning focused on spatial expansion and a sense of distance within the sound.

High-Rigidity Housing and Metal Skematic Design
Following the Typ821, theTyp930 employs titanium as its housing material, a substance notoriously difficult to machine. Titanium is a metal possessing extremely high rigidity while being relatively lightweight and exhibiting excellent biocompatibility. Consequently, it is a highly suitable material for earphones, yet it is also known for being exceptionally challenging to process.
The housing was designed by engineers with extensive expertise in metalworking, having handled cutting tools for Swiss and Japanese luxury watches and German automobiles. It is manufactured by machining a solid titanium block using powerful, high-precision multi-axis CNC machines.
Furthermore, MADOO holds the design philosophy that housing rigidity is essential to maximise the potential of the driver unit which directly impacts sound quality. Consequently, no compromises were made in the finish for sound quality. This includes sandblasting the housing surface to impart hardness and designing the shell thickness to be significantly greater than that of typical earphones.

Design Concept Inspired by the View from a Window
The design concept for the Type930 draws inspiration from the night sky, moon, and ocean waves visible through a window. The blue anodised titanium ornament inside represents the night sky, while the planar dynamic driver symbolises the moon. The housing is designed with a central circle and rippling waves, conveying the power of the ocean's tides.

Newly Developed Cable Featuring "PCUHD®"
For the Typ930, MADOO has newly developed a cable utilising Furukawa Electric's "PCUHD®" as the core wire. PCUHD® stands for "Pure Copper Ultra High Drawability". It is an oxygen-free copper material cast through a process that strictly controls the inclusion of impurities and contaminants by using carefully selected raw materials. By suppressing the oxygen content, it is characterised by reduced generation of "voids (air bubbles)/oxides within the material that impede electrical signal transmission".
This cable exhibits a sound characterisation marked by stability, grounding, and texture in the mid-to-
low frequencies. It is constructed by twisting two cables, each comprising seven cores, into a single cable.
Ear Tips
"MDX30" (sizes S, M, L) eartips come included in the the box. These are optimised for the elliptical nozzle, a common feature across MADOO products. Conventional round silicone ear tips are also included, allowing you to choose according to preference and further enhance the experience.
