MEZE AUDIO STRADA: YOUR OWN SPACE WITHIN THE MUSIC

Meet the Meze Audio STRADA - a pair of closed-back dynamic headphones crafted for tonal balance and musical intimacy. With its full-bodied sound, excellent noise isolation, and natural sense of space, it delivers a harmonious acoustic experience where detail, texture, and dynamics come through with effortless precision.

IMPACTFUL AND CLEAR SOUND

A balanced tuning with a focus on control and precision. The low end is tight and well-defined, with a slight bass emphasis that adds punch and body. The midrange remains neutral and transparent, preserving natural timbre and separation across instruments and vocals. The treble extends with subtle energy in the upper region, revealing fine textures and spatial cues while maintaining a smooth overall presentation.

CLOSED-BACK BLISS

The Meze Audio STRADA inherits its design from Meze's acclaimed LIRIC chassis, reimagined around a dynamic driver architecture. Hand-built from premium materials and shaped for a natural, adaptable fit, its lightweight closed-back construction distributes pressure evenly across the head and ears, delivering a thoughtful harmony of a consistent seal, isolation, and long-wear comfort in a more versatile form.

COMFORT THAT INVITES YOU IN

Designed for long listening sessions, STRADA brings together gentle clamping force, deep memory-foam ear pads, and the proven ergonomics of our award-winning LIRIC design. The soft PU leather contact surface of the ear pads provides a reliable acoustic seal, while the Alcantara-lined inner chamber helps manage heat and moisture buildup inside the ear cup, reducing fatigue during extended wear. Together, these elements create a closed-back headphone that feels natural and easy to live with, letting you stay immersed long enough to forget to press pause.

DRIVER DESIGN

At the STRADA’s core is the dynamic driver first introduced in the 109 PRO, tuned to perform within a closed-back chamber. Meze has kept the driver’s natural character fully intact while refining its behavior to meet the acoustic demands of a sealed environment.

W-SHAPED DOME: Made of a carbon fiber-reinforced cellulose composite, the dome can reproduce high frequencies with remarkable detail, clarity, and definition. More durable than conventional alternatives used in dynamic drivers, yet lightweight, this composite helps reduce resonances that may lead to harmonic distortion.

BERYLLIUM-COATED TORUS: The torus surrounding the dome is composed of beryllium-coated semicrystalline polymer. By applying the beryllium coating through Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), we increased the stiffness and durability of the driver, while still keeping it light enough to achieve a fast transient response. These qualities are also enhanced through the grooves on the torus, which are precisely positioned at a 45.5° angle. Beryllium’s high damping qualities also help suppress unwanted resonances, giving STRADA its vivid and transparent character.

STABILIZED: The copper-zinc alloy stabilizer, positioned around the membrane, improves the absorption of vibrations to further reduce distortion

FEATURES AND CRAFTSMANSHIP

The ear cups are adorned in Macassar ebony – a heavy, dense, and aesthetically pleasing hardwood known for its deep, rich brown coloration punctuated by intricate golden-brown stripes.

By combining the precision-crafted frame of the LIRIC with a new dynamic driver system, the Meze STRADA benefits from reduced weight. This translates into longer and more enjoyable listening sessions.

Crafted with precision and refined to move with fluid ease, Strada’s adjustment rods let you fine-tune the fit with smooth, controlled movement, free of clicks or sudden steps. This intuitive adjustability helps you achieve a secure, balanced fit that remains comfortable throughout every listening session.

Meze's passion for design and well-made objects is reflected in the color chosen for the magnesium frame: a deep, refined shade of green with metallic particles that shimmer subtly as they catch the light. Modern technology is no substitute for human meticulousness and soul, which is why each chassis is hand-painted by Meze's in-house artisans. Four carefully applied layers of paint are needed to achieve the STRADA’s rich texture and depth.

BUILT TO LAST GENERATIONS

From their resilient frame to the removable components, every part of the STRADA was crafted with long-term ownership in mind. By combining premium materials with a modular design, Meze has made it easy to repair or refresh, ensuring they stay in top form for years to come. This is Meze's way of honoring the past, investing in the future, and building something you’ll want to pass down, not throw away.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Strada uses a 50mm dynamic driver derived from Meze's flagship 109 PRO open-back headphone, retuned from the ground up for closed-back use. The diaphragm is a W-shaped composite dome made from carbon fibre-reinforced cellulose — a material chosen for its combination of rigidity and low mass, which reduces resonance and harmonic distortion. Surrounding the dome is a beryllium-coated semicrystalline polymer torus, applied via Physical Vapor Deposition — the same coating technique used in precision optics — which stiffens the torus without adding weight, improving transient response and treble transparency. A copper-zinc alloy stabiliser ring sits around the membrane to damp unwanted vibrations and tighten distortion control further. The end result is a driver that measures below 0.1% THD at 1kHz, with a frequency range of 5Hz to 30kHz, 40Ω impedance, and 111dB sensitivity — easy to drive from virtually any source.

The Strada is tuned for balance and musicality rather than dramatic emphasis. Bass is present and textured with a focus on sub-bass extension — giving low frequencies weight and physicality without bleeding warmth into the midrange. The midrange is clean and neutral, preserving the natural timbre of vocals and instruments. Treble is extended and detailed, giving the Strada a sense of air and spaciousness that is genuinely unusual for a closed-back headphone. Reviewers consistently note that the Strada sounds more open and spacious than its sealed design would suggest, with strong separation and a wider-than-expected soundstage. It suits a broad range of genres and listening styles, and at 111dB sensitivity and 40Ω impedance it drives easily from a smartphone, DAP, or dongle without needing a dedicated desktop amplifier.

The Strada shares its chassis with the Meze Liric series, which was designed specifically around all-day wearability. At 330g it is lighter than most headphones in its class, and the weight is distributed evenly across the headband. The ear pads use deep memory foam lined with Alcantara on the inner chamber — Alcantara manages heat and moisture far better than leather or pleather, making a meaningful difference during longer sessions. The headband adjustment uses a friction-based stepless sliding mechanism rather than fixed clicks, making it quicker and more precise to dial in a perfect fit. Clamp force is well-balanced — secure enough to stay in place while moving, but not tight enough to cause pressure fatigue. Multiple reviewers have noted it as one of the most comfortable closed-back headphones they have worn for extended periods.

The earcup faceplates are hand-crafted from Macassar ebony — a dense, hard tropical hardwood prized for its natural acoustic damping properties and its striking grain of deep brown with golden-brown striations. Because it is a natural material, no two pairs are identical; every Strada has its own distinct figure and patterning. The structural frame is CNC-machined magnesium and zinc — light, rigid, and acoustically inert — and is hand-painted in-house by Meze in four layers of deep metallic green infused with subtle metallic particles, a finish that changes character depending on the light. The ear pads attach via a magnetic mounting system, making pad swaps tool-free in seconds. The overall construction reflects Meze's background in industrial design, where material choice and finish quality are treated with the same seriousness as acoustic engineering.

Long-term serviceability is a core part of Meze's design philosophy, and the Strada is built with this explicitly in mind. Every component — ear pads, headband, cables, and structural parts — is designed to be individually replaced rather than requiring the whole headphone to be sent in or discarded. The ear pads swap magnetically in seconds without tools. The cables use standard 3.5mm earcup connectors, making replacements straightforward and widely available. Meze has a strong track record of supporting older models with spare parts for many years after launch, and the Strada ships with two Kevlar-wrapped OFC cables — a 3.5mm and a 4.4mm balanced — so both single-ended and balanced sources are covered from day one.
