ZMF's first "from the ground up" closed planar headphone, the Caldera Closed is born from the Caldera Open (rated Headfonics Best Ortho in 2023!). The Closed utilises the now Patented Atrium Damping System and the Patent Pending Caldera Pad and Caldera Magnet Systems.
Sonically the Closed version imparts the speed, immediacy and dynamism of the open, while adding a sub-bass boost and closer to Harman tuning with the incredible isolation of a closed back.
Aesthetically the Caldera Closed for the first time uses a geometrically "Caldera Volcano" influenced cup shape, with asymmetrical dips and dives that allow the sonic character of the planar magnetic driver to shine through.
The current stock wood for the Caldera is Shou Sugi Ban Ash. The Ash is treated with a burning technique that brings out the beauty on this special EU Ash.
