With newly redesigned, exceptionally comfortable hybrid ear pads—handcrafted in ABYSS’s New York facility using premium lambskin, Ultrasuede materials, and a memory foam core topped with pillow-like softness—ABYSS has further enhanced the acoustic performance of the latest-generation AB1266 TC, elevating it to even greater levels of sonic refinement.

Paired with a finely crafted leather headband embossed with the ABYSS name, this headphone offers extensive adjustability and remarkable comfort. It seems to float on the listener’s head, proving to be far more comfortable than its rugged design might suggest.

From the first note, ABYSS presents musicians and instruments in a completely new dimension. Voices seem to emerge from nowhere and float beyond the listener's head. Piano appears in front to the left, singers are centered, and drums sit slightly behind. The spatial cues are abundant, articulating every nuanced image within a 360-degree soundstage. There are no artificial enhancements—only the pure sound of the original recording reaching deep into the emotional core. The AB1266 TC effortlessly conveys both the scale and power of a large symphony and the subtlety of the quietest ambient details and decaying strings, offering an intimate, private concert experience.

ABYSS CNC machines and finishes all aluminum frame components, manufactures its planar speaker drivers, and assembles each AB1266 TC using U.S.-made stainless steel hardware—all within its own facility in the USA. The chassis features left and right side frames with an adjustable two-piece headband. There are no plastic parts; every component is machined from solid aluminum to ensure superior strength. Integrated resonance control minimizes coloration for the most accurate sound reproduction.

The headphones are finished with a high-quality, two-tone black-on-black metallic polymer ceramic coating—the hardest thin film coating available. ABYSS's patented planar magnetic transducer features an ultra-thin, low-mass diaphragm, enabling effortless dynamics and detailed retrieval across bass, midrange, and treble frequencies. The result is a spacious, front-row listening experience with powerful bass impact unmatched by any other headphone—akin to the best loudspeaker systems, miniaturized for the head.

Each driver pair is precisely matched. ABYSS uses custom high-power neodymium magnets, designed and patented by JPS Labs, with an optimized slot pattern. The low-carbon steel front baffle includes integrated resonance control, while the uniquely foamed aluminum backside is acoustically tuned to the diaphragm, providing an open sound free from the internal reflections and peaks common in many headphones.

The redesigned lambskin ear pads feature a hybrid construction: Ultrasuede contacts the face for comfort, solid lambskin inside maximizes acoustics, and perforated lambskin on the outer layer enhances breathability and bass response. Magnetic adjustability allows the user to fine-tune the fit for individual comfort and performance.

ABYSS also includes a newly redesigned, beautifully crafted French leather headband with head movement isolation to distribute weight properly for long listening sessions. Despite its robust appearance, the headphone is engineered to rest lightly atop the listener’s head, touching the ears only gently. The top of the headband is embossed with the ABYSS logo.

To complete the system, ABYSS provides a custom cable set by JPS Labs designed specifically for the AB1266, with upgrade options available to further increase the resolution and performance.

Serial numbers are permanently laser engraved on each AB1266 TC for traceability and collectability.
